Who We Are

People need help.

In the Eastern rural counties of North Carolina there is a shortage of recovery and mental health assistance. When someone chooses to go to rehab for addictions and help with overcoming hardships or when individuals are released from jail or prison and want to make a positive change in their lives, there is nowhere for these individuals to go. They then return to the people, places, and spaces that they encountered before, only to continue the vicious cycle of the same struggles.

Most people in these situations and others, including mental health issues, domestic violence, and other abuse victims, suffer with simply being productive at work, school, establishing and maintaining healthy relationships, much less trying to care for loved ones, spouses, and children at home. There are very few sober living homes in the vicinity for after care to support and help people on that recovery path that rehab teaches- the ones available are only in the larger cities such as Raleigh, Wilmington, Asheville, etc.

As far as mental health and counseling, the results are the same. Rural counties have VERY limited resources. When it comes to helping these often-struggling populations, it is classified as an 'international phenomenon' when speaking of the stigma and stereotypes associated. For these reasons and others, individuals needing help to restart their lives are not getting the support, resources, and assistance that they so very much NEED.

This does not even speak of the persons suffering from mental health issues but that will not even address their illness due to the disgraceful and shameful STAIN that would follow them.

That's where we come in to provide the much needed security and hope for continuing in the best life by providing homes for healing that will equip these individuals with the skills and mindset to prosper in life again.

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP.
